Warehouse Expansion Traffic Study
Laguna Niguel, California
The Maruchan expansion project in Irvine introduced an additional manufacturing building on the site, resulting in new circulation patterns for trucks, updated access needs, and increased operational activity within the Irvine Spectrum area. The project required revised driveways, loading facilities, and circulation improvements to support expanded manufacturing and distribution operations. TJW worked with the City of Irvine to provide traffic and circulation analysis with City specific Transportation Design Procedures (TDPs) utilizing traffic simulation and modeling software to evaluate the operational impacts of the expansion and identify improvements to maintain reasonable traffic flow. In addition, TJW worked with the construction team to prepare staged construction plans showing how access and circulation could be maintained while driveways, utilities, and frontage improvements were built. These plans included temporary lane adjustments, access routing, and bicycle detours around the site to support ongoing construction activities.
